Writing Coaches of Montana can be effective across diverse classrooms. We leave teachers to decide how to employ coaching, since they know their students' needs and learning objectives best.
Our one-on-one model helps students gain confidence in the writing and revision process through individualized coaching sessions, typically lasting from 20-30 minutes per student.
Volunteer coaches are available to work in-person or virtually with students, at the request of teachers or administrators.
Our coaches work with students, grades 4-12, and they are prepared to coach across disciplines and assignment types. Examples of past assignments include:
- history essay;
- policy proposal;
- science report;
- personal narrative;
- multimedia story;
- literary analysis.
Administrators and teachers interested in working with coaches should contact Executive Director, Cassie Sheets, at cassie@writingcoachesofmontana.org.
