Students have been working on writing a 5 paragraph essay on either Glacier or Yellowstone park. Students used an article and 2-column notes before drafting their essay. One specific area students need coaching with is avoiding sentences like this: In this essay you will learn...or, This paragraph is all about...We are working on writing more formally and creatively using transitions within their writing.
NOTE: There are 3 blocks of time that have been divided into 4 sessions.
Block one is divided into 2 parts. It begins at 9:10; at 10:00 there is a 45 minute break, then continues for 25 minutes until 11:10.
Block 2 is a solid chunk of time.
Block 3 begins at 1:55, has a 15 minute recess at 2:35, and ends at 3:15.
